Workshops at the Dunes : Camera Basics - 19th January 2018
A$70.00

This workshop takes place during the Milky Way Off Season of 2018 and is designed for beginners to get the best out of their cameras for Nightscape Astrophotography.

Participants will be taught how to use their cameras in full manual mode, the best settings for their particular camera and lens setup, and how to capture the Milky Way along with interesting foregrounds. 

At minimum, participants will have to own a DSLR with manual settings, a Wide-Angle Lens (24mm or wider) with an aperture size of f4.5 or larger and a Tripod. 

 

Date: Friday 19th January 2018

Time: 6:30pm to 11:30pm

Location: Lancelin Sand Dunes

Meeting Point: Lancelin Sand Dunes holding area

Limited to 10 people per workshop

 

*Please note that participants are only paying for the Workshop. Transport and Accommodation will NOT be provided and we will have to vacate the dunes by midnight. 

Camping at the Dunes is prohibited. However, there are plenty of cheap accommodation in the local town.

Should the weather be unfavourable on the advertised day due to rains or excessive cloud cover, participants will be notified and the workshop will be postponed to the following day, Saturday.*

Post Processing for Nightscape Astrophotography - Friday 23rd March 2018
A$100.00

This workshop takes place on the 23rd of March 2018 at Amherst Village Community Center function room in Southern River. 

Participants will be taught how to process astrophotos in Lightroom to achieve a dramatic "pop" in their images by means of contrast, colour balance and curve adjustments. Participants will also learn the basics of stitching and processing panoramas within Lightroom. 

At minimum, participants will have to shot some nightscape astrophotos in their camera's RAW file format and have a laptop (windows/mac) with Adobe Lightroom (any version) installed. However, RAW files can be provided to the participants to work on. A video recording of the workshop will also be provided to the participants so they can refer back to it later.
